What is a Custom Support Package (CSP)?


     With today's ever changing products, it has become almost a daily task of maintaining software updates.  While updates are important, the threat of Spyware, viruses and identity theft has become a major problem for computer users.  While not all Spyware is dangerous, it can slow the performance of your computer and possibly cause it not to work. Drac Technologies has designed a package that will allow us to remotely maintain your computer system.  Our CSP software will allow us to remotely monitor and update ninety-nine percent of the software on your system. We can remove Spyware and other software to keep your computer running at top performance.

What about security?

Our software uses encrypted passwords for the connection to your computer.  Once connected, we do not open any software packages unless requested by you. We do not capture, store or record any of your passwords without your permission.

What does Drac Technologies check?
  • Check that virus definitions are up to date
  • Check that current operating system patches are installed

What type of Internet connection do I need?
  • A high speed connection such as cable or DSL is the best connection.
Will a dial-up connection work?
  • Dial-up (phone connections) are normally to slow too do support.
I am behind a firewall. Will you be able to connect to me? Yes
  • Our software will work behind a firewall. We do not need any open ports or any special configuration. Unlike other software that require open ports, ours does not. This helps close any security issue that may arise. If you can connect to the Internet, you can use our software.
Will your technicians help me with other problems?
  • While we normally do not support custom software, we can help you with the normal software that comes with Windows operating systems. Our technicians are experienced on Windows 95, 98, NT, ME, 2000, and XP.
  • If you have other software needs, email us with the name and version for a quote.
Can I schedule a time that Drac Technologies can help me with a problem?  Yes
  • Most problems are solved by sending us an email. We then connect to your computer and correct what you have requested in the email. If you have a particular problem that you would like to be "walked" through, we can schedule a time to help you with it. NOTE: Additional charges may be discussed depending on the request. If so, your approval will be needed before any work is done.
How am I billed for the CSP support?
  • To help keep the cost down, bills are emailed to you about the twenty-fifth of each month. They are due on the first (1) and are past due on the tenth (10) of the month. If not paid by the fifteenth (15), service will be terminated.
How do I pay for the CSP support?
  • Payments are made by Visa or MasterCard through PayPal. If you do not have a PayPal account, it takes less than 10 minutes to open one, at NO cost to you. We use PayPal to help us verify who is paying and that you are using a secured site to make payments. This makes paying simple, secured, and helps us keep the cost of collection down.
Do I need to leave my computer on?  Yes
  • Most of the programs are run late at night so not to interfere with someone using the pc. If your computer is off we can not check it.  Your computer monitor uses the most power consumption. By having it power down when in the sleep mode, this reduces the power consumption to a minimal.
Does Drac Technologies monitoring software interfere with me  using my computer? No

 Our monitoring software runs completely in the background and uses very little system resources. The software has been tested on hundreds of computers with outstanding performance. At the present time, our software does not cause any software conflicts with current software programs.

When Drac Technologies is checking my system, can I use the computer? No

System checks are performed late at night in an effort  not to bother anyone using the computer. If we connect and see that you are using the computer, we will disconnect and schedule the system check for a later time.  If a high security alert update is issued, we will notify you and ask that use of the computer be suspended until the update is installed. You will see the screen flicker when we connect and then disconnect.

What is the cost of the CSP?

The monthly cost of the CSP is based on the number of computers at your location that we would support. Need a quote? Just send us an email to support@dractechnologies.com with the number of computers and if this is for business or personal.

NOTE:  System security, integrity and performance can not be maintained unless all computers at a location are included in the CSP.

When is my system checked?

Your system is routinely checked on a average of twice a month. If a security alert is issued by Microsoft or a new virus alert is issued, your system maybe checked more often to verify the update. The actual day and time will vary. Most system checks are performed late at night.
